Update On The Thunderstorm And Potential Svr Wx Threat On Tuesday And Wednesday

Evening All!!!

What a beautiful couple of days it has been with comfortable temps and dry weather. As the area of high pressure pushes off to the east eyes turn to the next weather maker in plains that will move into IL late Tonight and more-so Tomorrow afternoon as an approaching cold front moves closer and eventually passes Wed Night. Before then through some unsettled weather is possible with Thunderstorms some that could be strong to severe on Tuesday and then possibly again on Wednesday.

First on Tuesday the system currently in the plains will approach and possibly bring some rain and couple thunderstorms tomorrow morning over N IL, but bigger story is during the late day and into Tuesday night as the environment is expected to get moderate to strongly unstable as a warm and moist air-mass moves into the area with very decent shear of 35-45 Kts also is expected to be in place, this will set the stage for thunderstorms that do develop to organize and quickly turn strong over IA and eventually into IL with the main threats being Large Hail and Damaging winds, though there is a very low chance at an isolated tornado as well, activity will then move SE and move into IN though storms will be weakening as they do an isolated strong to severe storm over IN Tuesday night is possible, but believe there will be just general t-storms overnight.

Moving into Wednesday, Warm and moist air-mass will remain in place and temps over areas along and S of I 80 could reach into 90s, with moderate to strong instability once again being in place this time in front of an approaching cold front Wed eve/night which could again spark thunderstorms with another potential these could be strong to severe with Large hail and Damaging winds being the main threats especially over NE IL and N IN into MI. As front passes there will be a relief from the warm and humid air with dry conditions returning for the end of the week as another area of High pressure builds into the region, so far it overall looks like it will be a good weekend.

Stay Alert to the potential at thunderstorms and severe weather Tuesday and Wed and plan accordingly if have any plans to keep you and your family safe and prepared. Monitor latest weather conditions as things can change quick. Have those Weather radios on standby as they will alert you if threatening weather approaches. Take all potential watches and warnings seriously.

Going To Be Very Hot And Humid Today And Wednesday Across N IL/IN

Temps will be well into 90s across the area with heat index values expected to range from around 100° to 105°.

If you have to Venture out Take Extra Caution and Drink alot of Water to keep yourself hydrated as well as minimize time outdoors. If you really don’t have to b…e outside stay inside an air conditioned place and stay cool.

T-storms look to return to the area late Wednesday ahead of a cold front with a chance that some of those storms could become severe. Rain and T-Storms look to continue on and off till the weekend with the possibility at some moderate to heavy rainfall being possible thursday and friday.

Be safe out there Today and Wednesday.

Severe Weather Outbreak Possible over IL/IN On SouthWard

Another Significant Day of Severe Weather Looks on Tap This time for IN/IL on South.
With Large Hail Damaging Winds and Tornadoes all Possible.
Some of the Tornadoes could possibly be strong and long lived especially in central and southern IN/IL on south)

Have Those Plans in Place and Weather Radios on Stand by and take all watches and warnings very seriously.

This is shaping up to be another Serious Severe Weather Outbreak.

Quick Update On T-Storm Potential Over N IL/IN Today

Another Warm and humid summer like day is on tap once again for the area which will allow for a moderate to high amount of instability to develop once again over the area. As with yesterday there is a cap in place however unlike yesterday a disturbance is looking to move into area this afternoon which will aid in breaking the cap and acting like a trigger for at least scattered thunderstorm development this afternoon. With the very unstable air mass in place there is a threat for at least some of the thunderstorms that develop to pose a severe threat this afternoon and evening. The Primary severe threats would be Damaging Winds and Large Hail.

Update On Weather Expected Tonight Through Tuesday Night Over N IL/ IN

Tonight – Tuesday Morning:

Precip has ended across N IL/IN earlier in the day and will remain dry till this evening when rain moves in towards evening and increases in coverage overnight with heavy rain possible area wide with a chance at a few thunderstorms also being possible.

Tuesday- Tuesday Night:

As a low pressure system continues to approach the area on Tuesday eventually looking to track south of Chicago this would keep the severe Threat mainly S of I 80, however the track of this low needs to be watched as some of the NAM runs are suggesting that it may be slightly further north while GFS and HPC guidance keeps it south of Chicago. Any change will have an affect on what areas could see a threat at severe weather in N IL/ IN

Currently the Warm Sector tomorrow is looking to remain south of N IL/ IN towards Central and Southern IL/IN south west into MO where the highest instability along with high shear will setup this is why SPC has included this area in a moderate Risk for severe weather with threats in the moderate risk area being Damaging Winds, large Hail, and some tornadoes as well as heavy rainfall

Further North there is a risk of Severe Weather mainly south of I 80 due mostly in part of the high shear in place. The warm sector looks to approach N IN by Tuesday eve and part of N IN may actually get into the warm sector but timing of this should help limit the instability.

None the less theres a threat at thunderstorms over N IL/ IN some which could be strong to severe with Damaging winds and Large Hail the main threats. but any area that can get into the warm sector may also have a threat at an isolated tornado that cannot be ruled out.

On top of the severe potential Heavy rainfall area wide looks to occur starting tonight and lasting on and off through early Wednesday morning with over an inch of rain maybe approaching 2 inches in spots is looking to be possible which could also pose a flooding threat.
